During the year, running up to the main event, the Street Vibe team ran a series of workshops with children and teenagers, showing them how to make instruments while teaching basic principles of engineering. The workshops were based around three pilot events:

School Vibe - a workshop specially designed for schoolteachers to give them teaching plans on projects such as instrument making and Udu making; to teach to their pupils in preparation for the Festival of Sound.

Play Vibe - a workshop in school playgrounds to assist teachers who attended the Festival of Sound with their class.

Busk Vibe - Musicians and the Street Vibe team performed street theatre around central London interacting with the general public demonstrating engineering principles using fun, interactive experiments.
